Some of the LG "Chocolate" users might have tried to use the new Gmail App on their phone. Unfortunately, and even after a fine tuning of Gmail settings (whatever you mother tongue is and the mobile phone you're using, you have to choose the "English US" as display language on Gmail), Gmail App does not work properly with a KG800 device.

Trying to solve this problem, I figured out that this was a "Verisign Class 3 public certificate" issue.
As explained on dedicated Gmail App web page regarding phone's requirement, you need:
- Your Gmail language preference needs to be set to English (US).
- You must be using a J2ME (Java) MIDP2 phone. You can view a list of supported devices. Note: Most Verizon phones do not support MIDP2.
- You'll need a mobile data plan, and your phone needs to be configured for data access. Note: The T-Mobile $5.99 plan doesn't support the Gmail for mobile application.
- Your phone needs the Verisign Class 3 public certificate with serial number 70:BA:E4:1D:10:D9:29:34:B6:38:CA:7B:03:CC:BA:BF. Note: Not all phones allow you to check for this certificate.
As far as I know, the only requirement that does not comply with the "Chocolate" might be the "Verisign Class 3 public certificate".
I tried to contact LG Customer Service but the only answer I received was that they were thanking me for submitting this issue. Apparently, an "analyst team" was working very hard on the subject to solve it. Finally, I did not get any answer…
So if you have reached this page, you might be experiencing the same problem than me. If you ever find a solution, please inform me so that I can update this post.
